Bhadrak: A college student went missing while bathing in a flooded canal in Odisha’s Bhadrak district.
According to sources, the student, Rudra Narayan Panda of Dhusuri Panda Patna village under Dhamnagar block in the district had gone to bath in Kandia canal of Genguti river in the afternoon.
The canal was overflowing due to the flood in Genguti in the wake of heavy rainfall following Cyclone Dana that made the landfall along Odisha coast in the early hours of October 25.
On being informed by the villagers about the missing student, a team of Fire services personnel in Dhamnagar rushed to the village and launched a search operation. But the Fire personnel could not trace Rudra.
The search operation was going on till the report was filed.
