Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police has made elaborate arrangements to ensure a smooth observance and celebration of Ganesh Puja which falls on September 7, this year.
DCP Prateek Singh said that detailed discussions have been held with puja committees and their concerns were addressed.
“Matters related to procession, which will be held on September 8, 11 and 15, have been discussed. We have directed to use traditional musical instruments instead of DJs during procession. The committees will need to ensure that city traffic is not affected due to processions,” said Singh.
Besides, matters such as ample parking space, fire safety measures, CCTV cameras and deployment of volunteers have also been discussed with the puja committees.
“The intent is to ensure seamless darshan and puja for the devotees. We have had fruitful discussions so far, and there will be another round of meeting at police station levels to address local issues,” the DCP added.
