Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the festival season and apprehending activity of anti social elements, the Commissionerate Police has launched a drive to raid ‘Khatis’ in Odisha capital.
In the process, a special team of the Twin City police raided vulnerable spots at Chandrasekharpur, Maitri Vihar, Nandankanan, Infocity, Airport, Lingaraj and Dhauli areas of Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
Similar raids were carried out by the police on illegal ‘Khatis’ or ‘addas’ at several locations in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday night.
The crackdown is part of a special operation aimed at dismantling illegal gatherings, crime spots, and identification of smuggling and criminal networks, the police said.
