Chennai: A Tamil Nadu Congress leader had been missing since Thursday.
On Saturday, his burnt body was found in a farmland, owned by him, in Tirunelveli.
KPK Jeyakumar, the deceased, was the president of Tirunelveli East district unit of Congress.
Police informed that Jeyakumar’s filed a complaint on Friday, the day after he went missing.
A dying declaration was recovered, which police are investigating whether it was written by him, reported NDTV.
Police are yet to ascertain whether Jeyakumar was murdered or committed suicide.
The Superintendent of Police (Tirunelveli) said that three special teams have been formed to investigate the mysterious death of Jeyakumar from all angles.
