Bhubaneswar: Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) and Head of the Forest Force (HoFF) Sisir Kumar Ratho on Tuesday said the Odisha government is continuously monitoring the forest fire situation and taking all possible steps to keep the fire under control.
He said the field staff along with fire squads, ODRAF, Fire personnel in association and support of district administration are on full alert regarding the fire situation.
“The field staff are meticulously engaged in fire dousing operations in association with PRIs & local communities to prevent any proliferation. The fire squads are provided with firefighting gear for their safety and improved efficiency. Besides, continuous online monitoring and review is underway to keep the fire situation under control,” Ratho added.
Admitting that the conditions are conducive to forest fire due to high temperature and less humidity, Ratho said rainfall forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in next 3-4 days in some parts of the state will be a welcome relief.
