Council Of Ministers Approves Rs 55,855 Cr Draft Interim Budget

Bhubaneswar: The Council of Ministers approved the draft interim budget of the Odisha government at a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat here on Saturday.

However, there is no announcement of any new scheme by the state government in the interim budget.

The four-month interim budget of Rs 55,855 crore, prepared by the state government for 2019-20 fiscal, is earmarked for implementation of KALIA and other schemes.

Besides, budget provisions have also been made for implementation of the state-sponsored schemes at the district level.

The interim budget will be tabled in the State Assembly by the Finance minister Sashi Bhusan Behera during the budget session on February 7.

The volume of the annual budget of the state, which was Rs 1,32,818 crore during 2018-19 fiscal, will go up further by 12 per cent during 2019-20 fiscal, official sources said.
