Couple Sleeping On Footpath Attacked Near PMG Square In Bhubaneswar; Man Dead, Wife Critical

Bhubaneswar: A couple, sleeping on the footpath near PMG Square in Odisha’s capital, was attacked with sharp weapons by miscreants on Sunday night. The man died, while his wife sustained critical injuries in the attack.

According to reports, the couple’s child was spared by the attackers and has been handed over to Childline authorities.

The couple, probably migrant labourers in the city, and the child were sleeping near an ATM kiosk at PMG Square. The woman has been admitted to Capital Hospital here.

The couple’s and the child’s identity are yet to be established. Kharavela Nagar police have begun investigations. Police said they were examining footage from CCTV cameras in the area.
