Bhubaneswar: A total of 147 youth in the 15-18 age were vaccinated on the first day of vaccination drive for the group by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The vaccination session started at 8 am during which 150 children who had registered online and 15 on-spot registrations were given the Covaxin jab.
No adverse events were reported, stated the hospital authorities. Children taking their first jab showed enthusiasm and were eager for the second too, which they can avail on completion of 28 days.
Two dedicated counters were opened for the purpose. A team of 17 members comprising was formed for this special vaccination drive for children at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Led by Additional Professor of Community Medicine and Family Medicine Department Dr Swayam Pragyan Parida, Dr Jyotsna and Dr Payal coordinated the whole drive at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
