Bhubaneswar: To beat the COVID-19 pandemic by checking its spread, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has started mass testing drive for vendors in North zone areas of the capital city on Friday.
Samples of all vendors of Tarini market in Niladri Vihar area have been taken.
Additional Commissioner Laxmikanta Sethi and zonal Deputy Commissioner Purandar Nanda called upon the vendors to come forward for voluntary testing.
In case a vendor coming to market on daily basis is coming in contact of more than 30 persons, there is every chance of getting infected, said told ZDC Purandar Nanda.
The vendors should know their status, so that they can protect themselves from serious health conditions, he added.
All the market areas will be covered soon in the zone, he added.
