Bhubaneswar: Arrangements have been made at the Bhubaneswar railway station for separate entry and exit of passengers with an aim to identify positive cases, if any, and check the spread of COVID-19 cases.
The intensified checking by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) with the help of railway authorities will be effective from Monday.
The passengers can enter the station from the bus stand side and exit from the Reliance Mall side. A railway official said the decision has been taken to prevent passengers from outside district or state coming face-to-face with locals entering the station.
Moreover, passengers arriving in the city from other states will have to produce a COVID negative report (RT-PCR test report) or final vaccination certificate at BMC kiosk set up near the ATM counter.
In case, any passenger does not possess the reports, that person will have to undergo a complete registration process for tracking and follow up action by health authorities in case a necessity arises.
Only passengers from other states having high-COVID infections will have to go through this process. Six teams with two members each have been formed and deployed at the station to ensure that the guidelines are followed, said a BMC official.
Station Director of Bhubaneswar railway station Chittaranjan Nayak requested people to follow the new rules for effective checking of COVID-19 spread.
