New Delhi: With the addition of a record 90,632 infections overnight, India’s COVID-19 tally sprinted past 41 lakh on Sunday to stand at 41,13,812 and inching closer to Brazil as the world’s second-most affected nation from the virus.
India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 80,000 daily caseloads on August 31, 2020.
Also, 1,065 more patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry said. The total toll stands at 70,626.
“The highest ever single-day recoveries of 73,642 were recorded on September 6 and currently, the recovery rate now is 77.23 per cent. About 77.32 per cent (31,80,866) people have recovered from the infection while another 21 per cent (8,62,320) are under treatment.
“Five States have contributed to 60 per cent of the total recoveries.
