New Delhi: India witnessed a further drop in daily COVID-19 cases as 2,503 fresh infections were reported in the last 24 hours on Monday.
This is the lowest single-day spike since May 2020, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday. The active cases dipped to 36,168.
With this, the COVID-19 tally surged to 4,29,93,494 while the toll climbed to 5,15,877 with 27 fresh casualties, according to data updated at 8 am.
The active cases are 0.08 per cent of the total infections, while the country’s recovery rate improved to 98.72 per cent, said the ministry.
