New Delhi: India’s rate of recovery from COVID-19 touched 90% on Sunday with 62,077 people recovering from the disease in the last 24 hours, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
Besides, 50,129 new confirmed cases were reported overnight, the ministry said in a statement.
It added that the achievement is matched by the downward spiral of the total active cases, which remained below the 7 lakh-mark for the third consecutive day.
With 578 COVID-19 patients succumbing in the last 24 hours, the daily toll also continued to experience a downward slope with less than 1,000 deaths reported since the last one week. The number of fatalities has remained below 1,100 since October 2.
