New Delhi: There have been 41,810 new COVID-19 infections and 496 deaths in the past 24 hours in India. India’s tally soared to 93,92,920 on Sunday with toll touching 1,36,696, according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
There are currently 4,53,956 active cases in the country, whereas 88,02,267 patients have been cured and discharged.
The recovery rate is at 93.71 per cent, and the fatality rate is 1.46 per cent, the Ministry said.
Maharashtra continued to be the worst-hit state with 18,14,515 cases so far with 90,965 active cases and 46,986 deaths.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the overall number of global COVID-19 cases has crossed the 62 million mark, while the tolls have surged to more than 1.45 million.
