Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday lauded the efforts of doctors and healthcare workers as Odisha crossed 1 lakh COVID-19 recoveries.
Till Monday, Odisha had reported 127892 positive cases and 99398 among them had recovered from the infection.
Another 3490 new cases have been detected in the last 24 hours. The virus has so far claimed 569 lives. The Health Department, however, is yet to release the recoveries for Tuesday.
With a recovery rate of more than 75 per cent and a fatality rate of 0.43 per cent, the state now faces the twin challenges of Khurda with 7683 active cases and Cuttack with 3265 active cases. Without lockdowns, weekend shutdowns and night curfews, it is to be seen if the Ganjam model can be replicated completely in these two districts.
