Delhi: The Centre on Monday rushed 50 high-level public health teams to Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Punjab to help in control and containment measures.
The high level multi-disciplinary public health teams will be deployed in 30 districts of Maharashtra, 11 districts of Chhattisgarh and 9 districts of Punjab where they will assist the State Health Department and local authorities in COVID-19 surveillance, control and containment measures.
They will submit daily reports on five aspects including testing; contact tracing including surveillance & containment; hospital infrastructure including ICU, ventilator & oxygen beds; enforcement of COVID appropriate behaviour and COVID vaccination.
The teams have been sent to these three badly-hit states after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting to review Covid-19 situation on Sunday.
