Bhubaneswar: Taking note of the resurgence of  COVID-19 in seven states, Odisha government has decided to intensify the screening of all passengers at Biju Patnaik International Airport from Thursday.

Informing the media on Thursday, Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Anshuman Rath said thermal screening and registration of all passengers arriving from the neighbouring states at the airport has been made mandatory from Thursday.

He said any passengers having symptomatic conditions will be advised to remain in home isolation. “As the contact tracing will be made if any passenger is tested positive for COVID-19, BMC will collect the detailed address and the contact number of all passengers,” Rath said, adding that the screening and registration at the airport will be held from 7 am to 10 pm.
