Nuapada: Concerned over the rising COVID-19 cases, the Nuapada administration has restricted the entry of people to some temples and tourist places in the district.
In a notification, Collector Swadha Dev Singh has asked people not to visit the Yogeswar temple at Patora, Jaleswar temple at Tikhali and Shiv temple at Pataloanga.
The religious rituals in temples and places of worship will continue as usual with a limited number of persons with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
To avoid congregations at tourist spots, restrictions have been imposed on the entry of people to Patora dam site, Tikhali dam site and Patalaganga.
The collector said that the tourist officer, executive engineer and BDO concerned will be held responsible in case of any outbreak of COVID-19 infection due to the congregation of people at these tourist places.
Any person found violating this order will be punished under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other related laws, the notification pointed out.
Nuapada has witnessed a spike in cases since March 25. The district saw 60 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
