Nayagarh: There has been an alarming rise in local contact cases in Odisha’s Nayagarh district in the last fortnight.
According to available data, 347 positive cases have been detected in the district since July 24 and 345 among them are local contact cases.
Of the total 138 cases in the last five days (since August 1), 137 are local contacts.
All 25 new cases reported in the district in the last 24 hours are also local contacts. These cases have been reported from Daspalla (9), Ranpur (8), Odagaon (6) and one each from Bhapur and Khandapada, the district administration tweeted.
With this, the affected tally in Nayagarh touched 802 on Thursday.
While the district has reported four deaths, 490 patients have been cured of the infection so far.
