New Delhi: An overnight addition of 47,730 positive cases took India’s COVID-19 tally past 14.5 lakh to 14,83,183 on Tuesday.
A total of 654 people succumbed to the virus infection in the last 24 hours that took the country’s death toll to 33,425, the Union Health Ministry informed.
On a positive note, cumulative recovered cases (9,52,743) have surpassed active cases by 4,55,745.
Also, India’s recovery rate crossed 64 per cent and improved to 64.24 per cent. The fatality rate of cases also dipped a bit to 2.25 per cent and is observed falling progressively, according to a PIB release.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 1,73,34,885 COVID-19 samples have been tested so far, including 5,28,082 on Monday.
