New Delhi/ Hyderabad: A two-day dry run of COVID-19 vaccine programme starts in four states — Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat and Assam — on Monday.
With focus on managing possible adverse events following immunisation, the dry runs include various checks. Cold storage and transportation arrangements are part of the program that will be carried out in the districts chosen in each state, reported NDTV.
Centre will be reported of the observations in all the four states during the two-day vaccination program. In the first phase, the government is planning to cover 30 crore people as it rolls out a vaccine for COVID-19.
As many as 2,360 training sessions have been conducted so far, which included the training of 7,000 officials, medical officers and vaccinators.
In Andhra Pradesh, the dry run that will be conducted in Krishna district will aim to test the planned operations and the state’s laid-out mechanisms, Health Commissioner Katamaneni Bhaskar told reporters on Sunday.
“It will provide insights into any gaps or bottlenecks so that those could be addressed before the commencement of the actual drive,” Bhaskar was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
