New Delhi: Renowned obstetrician and gynaecologist and one of the longest serving doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi Dr SK Bhandari has succumbed to COVID-19. She was 86 years old.
Bhandari had delivered Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her two children, news agency PTI reported.
In a series of tweets, Priyanka condoled the demise of the veteran doctor.
She was admitted to the hospital two weeks back for some heart-related issues but tested positive for COVID-19, Dr DS Rana, chairman of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said on Thursday.
She had received both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine, he added.
Bhandari’s husband, a retired IAS officer, is also in the ICU after he tested positive for COVID-19.
