Bhubaneswar: The COVID death toll crossed 1000 in the capital city where 4 more patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
The daily COVID caseload was 234 in the city in the last 24 hours. The new cases included 61 from quarantine and 173 local contacts, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Of the local contacts, maximum 15 cases were reported from Nayapalli, followed by 12 from Old Town and 9 cases each from Jaydev Vihar and VSS Nagar.
While 254 patients recovered from the disease during the period, the toll climbed to 1002 in the last 24 hours.
The city now has 3,081 active cases while the affected tally have gone up to 1,07,337, the BMC stated.
