Baripada: The students of North Odisha University have lodged a complaint of violation of COVID-19 guidelines against the Vice Chancellor and Registrar at the Town police station here.
Talking to the media on Sunday, Chiteswar Behera, a first-year Post-Graduate student, said the students had been staging a dharna in front of the main gate of the university for the last four days to demand a waiver in readmission fee.
To refrain the students from the agitation, the VC, Prof Pradip Chand, and the Registrar, Prof Pramod Satpathy, came to the dharna site without wearing masks.
Acting on the complaint, police have registered cases against the VC and the Registrar under the Epidemic Diseases Act, Behera said.
Meanwhile, the university authorities have lodged a complaint against the students for staging a dharna.
