Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 cases in the Capital City continue to remain on the higher side with 369 persons testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. On Tuesday, the cases had witnessed a major jump with 357 new infections against 181 on Monday.
Of the new cases, 65 were from quarantine and 304 were local contacts against 282 reported yesterday, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated in a tweet.
Of the local contacts maximum, 30 were reported from Patia, followed by 23 from Nayapalli plus a 6-year-old female child from the area and 17 from Chandrasekharpur,
The city logged 235 recoveries while there are 1,611 active cases. The number of deceased has touched 683 with 17 more patients succumbing to the disease.
With the day’s addition, the total number of cases stood at 96,791 while 94,476 patients have recovered from the disease.
