Greater Noida: A 35-year-old COVID-positive woman died in her car gasping for oxygen. She was waiting to be admitted to a hospital in Greater Noida. The victim’s body remained in the car for over three hours before it was taken for cremation.
The incident took place outside the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) in Greater Noida. The victim, Jagriti Gupta, an engineer in Greater Noida is survived by her husband and two children.
The attendant who accompanied Jagriti begged the hospital authorities for a bed but by the time a doctor came, it was too late, India Today reported.
To make matters worse, the authorities did not arrange for the body to be taken to the mortuary and cremated as per COVID protocols. The victim’s body lay inside the car for over three hours before it was taken for cremation, the report added.
