Bhubaneswar: The recovered patients outnumbered the daily COVID caseload in the city for the third consecutive day on Wednesday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 171 persons tested positive for the disease against 262 recovered cases in the last 24 hours. While the daily caseload was 200 against 255 recovered cases on Tuesday, the figures were 173 against 258 on Monday.
The new cases on the day included 43 from quarantine and 128 local contacts. Of the local contacts, maximum 10 cases were reported from Patia, followed by 9 each from Nayapalli and Rasulgarh and 7 each from Khandagiri and Chandrasekharpur.
The toll climbed to 998 with three more deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
The city now has 3,105 active cases while the affected tally have gone up to 1,07,103, the BMC stated.
