Keonjhar: The abode of Goddess Tarini at Ghatagaon in Odisha’s Keonjhar will remain closed on January 14.
According to sources, anticipating a heavy rush, the temple trust officials on Thursday announced that the temple will remain out of bounds for devotees on Makara Sankranti. However, daily rituals will be conducted as usual by the temple priests.
Likewise, in view of alarming COVID-19 situation, famous Makar Mela at Baghamari in Khurda district has been cancelled.
The district administration has imposed Section-144 at Hattakeshwar temple and Atri spring premises until further orders. However, rituals are allowed at the shrine with maximum five priests, the sources added.

Notably, the daily COVID caseload breached the 10,000-mark on Thursday as 10,059 more people, including 872 in the age group of 0-18 years, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
