Beijing: Amid a flare-up in COVID cases, China has witnessed four outbreaks related to schools and kindergartens, Global Times reported.
While local infections remained high at Heihe, two sites in the border city – Xinji and Shenze – saw students getting infected.
Cases were reported from at least one primary school and two kindergartens with the youngest being a 2-year-old from Shenze. The three cases from Xinji were all 11-year-old students at an elementary school.
Besides, Heihe College was closed after 10 close contacts were found, the report said.
In-person classes in 10,818 schools and kindergartens were suspended in Gansu, which reported at least 12 confirmed cases among students. All universities are under closed-loop management, the report said.
Chaoyang district has also suspended classes at 18 schools after an outbreak of COVID, the report added.
