Bhubaneswar: As many as 27 of the 30 districts in Odisha that have more than 1000 COVID actives cases are now tagged as red zone.
According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, the active cases in Odisha rose to 1,04,016 on Friday. Of these, 86 per cent (98,662) cases are in the red zone districts.
Of the districts tagged as red zone, Khurda has the highest of 15,937 active cases. The other districts with more than 1000 actives cases are Angul (4,898), Balasore (2,936), Bargarh (4,450), Bhadrak (1,951), Balangir (3,030), Boudh (2,281), Cuttack (8,548), Deogarh (1,005), Dhenkanal (1,556), Ganjam (2,054), Jagatsinghpur (1,686), Jajpur (3,434), Jharsuguda (3,107), Kalahandi (3,940), Kendrapada (1,316), Keonjhar (1,473), Koraput (1,626), Mayurbhanj (2,428), Nabarangpur (2,980), Nayagarh (2,378), Nuapada (2,234), Puri (3,836), Rayagada (1,375), Sambalpur (4,928), Sonepur (1,557) and Sundargarh (11,718).
A zone is categorized as red if the districts with the highest caseload contribute to contribute more than 80 per cent of coronavirus cases for each state or the districts with a doubling rate of less than four days.
