Bhubaneswar: The capital city witnessed a marginal fall in daily COVID positive cases as 237 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours compared to 275 new cases on Saturday, 245 on Friday and 263 on Thursday.
Of the new cases, 77 are from quarantine and 160 local contacts. Among local contacts, maximum 10 cases have been reported from Patia, followed by 9 from IRC village, 7 from Dumduma and 6 from Chandrasekharpur, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
While 183 patients have recovered during the period, the number of deceased went up to 980 with one more death due to the disease reported in the last 24 hours.
The city now has 3,432 active cases while the affected tally has touched 1,05,512, the BMC stated.
