Berhampur: To identify COVID-19 patients, Ganjam district administration began the fifth-phase of health screening in urban areas of the district on Saturday.
Informing the media, Ganjam collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said that door-to-door health screening in the urban pockets will continue for four days.
He said to ensure thorough screening of all the people, 50 medical teams are engaged in Berhampur city while 150 teams will conduct the screening in other urban localities of the district.
“As the review of the concentration of COVID-19 has revealed that maximum positive cases are from the urban areas, efforts are being made to identify new patients to contain the spread of the virus,” he added.
Replying to reports in a section of media that the health teams are conducting screening without the oximeter, the collector said he has appealed the people to ask the health team to use oximeter during screening. There is adequate stock of oximeter in the district, he pointed out.
