New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Indians now register on the CoWIN app with their Aadhaar cards to get their COVID-19 vaccines does.
From January 3, children aged 15 to 18 years will also be vaccinated against COVID-19. Many of them may not have Aadhaar cards. So, what will be the registration process for them?
Children in the 15-18 age group will also register on CoWIN from January 1, National Health Authority chief Dr RS Sharma said.
“We’ve added an additional ID card for registration — student ID card — because some might not have Aadhaar or other identity cards,” said Dr Sharma, also chief of the CoWIN platform.
Odisha will be inoculating over 25 lakh in the age group of 15-18 years against COVID, Family Welfare Director and state vaccination in-charge Dr Bijay Panigrahi informed on Monday.
Speaking to the media, he said that registration for 25.53 lakh children will soon begin on CoWIN and camps will be held in schools and colleges for the vaccination drive.
According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s latest guidelines, those in the age group of 15-18 years will have the option of Covaxin only. Till now, people above 18 could choose between Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik V.
