Bhubaneswar: Titlagarh sub-collector has ordered curfew in the town from 9 am to midnight on Sunday when hundreds of migrant labourers are expected to arrive.
According to sources, more than 300 migrant workers from Titlagarh, who had migrated to other states in search of livelihood, are expected to return by train. The sub-collector has imposed the curfew to facilitate transfer of the returnees to quarantine centres.
One of the poorest places in Odisha, thousands of people migrate from Titlagarh in Balangir district in the lean period of agriculture activities. They return at the time of harvest of rabi and kharif crops.
According to sources, with the harvest of rabi crop yet to pick up, large number of the labourers are expected to come back to participate in the farm activities.
