Cuttack: After registering lowest number of 37 cases in the last two months on Friday, the city witnessed a spike as 64 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, maximum 31 were local contacts including 5 from College Square, 3 from Jagatpur, and 2 each from Nimpur, Telengapentha and Nayabazar.
As many as 18 positive cases were detected from institutional quarantine centres and 15 from home quarantines, according to Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).
With the new addition, the total count of positive cases has gone up to 14,839. While 13,952 patients have recovered, 68 have succumbed to the disease so far. There are 819 active cases in the city at present.
