Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning about rain and lightning for 11 districts of Odisha by midnight on Wednesday.
The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar issued orange alert for Keonjhar and Jajpur districts. It said light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning and intense rain at one or two places likely to affect some parts of Keonjhar and Jajpur during the next three hours.
Similarly, yellow warning was issued for Mayurbhanj, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Ganjam, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Bhadrak and Dhenkanal districts. Light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with lightning is likely to affect some parts of these districts during next three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
