Bhubaneswar: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has taken several measures to strengthen financial education among school children.
With a view to create more awareness in this regard, RBI conducted the All India Quiz on Financial Literacy, 2023, targeting students from classes VIII to X of government and municipal schools at block and district levels in Odisha from April.
The winners of block level competition took part in the district level quiz, and the district level winners competed in the state level quiz at Jayadev Bhavan here on July 18.
Ritika Priyadarshini and Satchidananda Behera, of Arjun Subudhi High School in Cuttack district, emerged as the state champions. The team was mentored by Sai Krishana Parida.
The Odisha champion team thus qualified for the zonal level quiz to be conducted next.
RBI organised the block, district and state level quiz events with the cooperation, guidance and assistance from Odisha government’s School & Mass Education Department, OSEPA, DEOs, LDMs and other stakeholders.
The quiz is part of the Financial Literacy Week (FLW) RBI has been conducting every year since 2016.
FLW 2023, themed ‘Good Financial Behaviour – Your Saviour’ was observed during February, in alignment with overall strategic objectives of National Strategy for Financial Education: 2020-2025, which aims at building financial resilience and well-being while creating awareness among members of public.
