Birmingham: Odisha athletes Dutee Chand and Srabani Nanda played their part to help the Indian team enter the 4 x 100m women’s relay final at the Commonwealth Games 2022 here on Saturday.
Dutee ran the first leg, while Srabani was No. 3, behind Hima Das. Jyothi Yarraji anchored the team, taking over the baton from Srabani to finish in 44.45 seconds.
The Indians were second, behind runaway winners and gold-favourites Jamaica, who completed the race in 43.66.
The final will be held on Sunday, when the Indians will line up against Jamaica, Nigeria, England, Australia, Scotland, Trinidad & Tobago and Ghana.
The men’s 4x400m relay team has also progressed to the final, to be run on Sunday.
