Bhubaneswar: Odisha has had its share of cyclones in the past, so in that sense, Cyclone Dana, is just another one. However, every cyclone is a new experience because the level of destruction it brings along is always unpredictable.

Thanks to the blessing of modern technology, we now know about cyclones in advance and can equip ourselves on how to face the onslaught and minimise loss of life and property.

Cyclone Dana is expected on October 24 night/ October 25 morning.

Here is a comprehensive cyclone checklist to ensure safety.

Pre-Cyclone Preparations (72-48 hours before landfall)

– Non-perishable food
– Water (2 litres/person/day)
– First aid kit
– Flashlights/batteries
– Extra cash

During the Cyclone

3.⁠ ⁠Keep phone lines open for emergencies
4.⁠ ⁠Unplug appliances to prevent damage

Post-Cyclone Precautions

– Report disruptions (power, water, communication)
