Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has directed all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to remain alert and address potential challenges to be posed by cyclone ‘Dana’.
In anticipation of the approaching cyclone, Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development department made a comprehensive review of the preparedness of all ULBs through video-conference on Monday.
Several senior officials including Director of Municipal Administration, Special Secretaries, Additional Secretaries, Commissioners from five municipal corporations and executive officers of all municipalities and NACs participated in the meeting.
During the review, Padhee emphasised the need for constant coordination with the district administration and directed immediate activation of the unified 24×7 control room. She urged all ULBs to be fully prepared to address the following issues:
Nodal officers were instructed to remain on high alert, continuously monitor the situation, and provide regular updates. Padhee stressed the importance of efficient coordination and swift response to minimize the impact on the people.
