Bhubaneswar: With cyclone Fengal triggering rain in several parts of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued yellow warning for 22 districts of the state.
A few spells of light may occur at a few places in Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Boudh, Dbenkanal, Sundargarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Balasore, Nuapada, Rayagada, and Kandhamal districts till afternoon.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather.
Meanwhile, the cyclonic storm Fengal (pronounced as FEINJAL) over Southwest Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 7 kmph and lay centred at 0230 hours IST of Saturday in the same region.
It was about 370 km north of Trincomalee, 210 km northeast of Nagappattinam, 180 km east of Puducherry and 190 km southeast of Chennai.
As per IMD, the cyclonic storm is likely to move nearly west-northwestwards and cross north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram close to Puducherry as a cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph during afternoon of November 30.
