Bhubaneswar: The Met Department here on Saturday forecast cloudy skies with intense spells of rain over Bhubaneswar and Cuttack over the next 24 hours due to the effect of Cyclone Jawad.
The Met Department has issued an orange warning for the twin cities as heavy (7-11 cm) to very heavy (11-20 cm) rainfall is likely to occur at a few places.
The wind speed over the twin cities will be 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph.
The Met Department warned of water-logging, reduced visibility and uprooting of trees because of the rain and squally winds.
In its forecast for December 5, the weather office said that similar conditions will continue: cloudy skies and sporadic spells of intense rainfall. It issued a yellow warning for the twin cities. Wind speed will remain 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph.
