Bhubaneswar: With Cyclone Jawad likely to make landfall near Odisha’s Puri on December 5, the district administration on Friday issued an emergency number, 06752-223237, for its denizens.
Puri residents have been asked to call on this helpline number with regards to emergencies and enquiries.
The cyclonic story is likely to move north-northwestwards, intensify further and reach west-central Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts by Saturday morning. Thereafter, it is likely to recurve north-northeastwards and move along Odisha coast reaching Puri around Sunday noon. It is then likely to continue to move north-northeastwards along coastal Odisha towards West Bengal, the IMD said in its special bulletin.
Most leading weather models have also tracked the movement of the cyclone to Puri.
