Cyclonic Circulation Over Bay Of Bengal: Heavy To Very Heavy Rainfall Forecast From Sept 8-11

Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation has formed over eastcentral and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.

According to the weather office, the system extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.

Sept 8 (Till 8.30 am)

Yellow warning

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur,Kandhamal and Kalahandi.

Sept 8 (8.30 am) to Sept 9 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, Khurda and Puri.

Sept 9 (8.30 am) to Sept 10 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Malkangiri and Nuapada.

Sept 10 (8.30 am) to Sept 11 (8.30 am)

Yellow warning

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Khurda, Puri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir and Nabarangpur.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Koraput, Rayagada, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
