Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in the capital city crossed 200 again on Thursday as 218 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours.
The city had reported 186 infections on Wednesday, 138 on Tuesday and 147 on Monday. In the last week, there were 218 new cases on Sunday and Saturday, 267 on Friday and 213 on Thursday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 50 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 168 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 10 cases were reported from Nayapalli, followed by 9 from Badagarh and 8 from Jagamara and 7 each from Patrapada and Sailashree Vihar.
The city also saw 186 patients recovering from the virus during the period while the number of deceased due to COVID remained at 1,014.
The active cases went up to 3,670 while total 1,11,578 people have been infected so far.
