Daily COVID Caseload Remains Above 1500 For 2nd Day In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in the capital city remained above 1500 for second day as  1532 new cases were reported in 24 hours between 9 am of Friday and that of Saturday.

The city registered 1502 COVID positive cases in previous 24 hours ending 9 am of Friday, 1498 cases on Thursday, 1414 on Wednesday, 1402 on Tuesday, 1360 on Monday and 1321 on Sunday.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the total new cases, 1484 patients are local contacts while 48 are from quarantine.

Of the local contact cases, maximum 147 are from Khandagiri, followed by 136 from Patia, 121 from Nayapalli, 114 from Chandrasekharpur and 8 from Old Town.

Total 1314 persons recovered from the infection during the period taking the total number of recoveries to 1,29,958. The active cases have gone up to 11,156.

The number of fatalities has remained same at 1109 of yesterday. The total positive cases in the city so far have gone up to 1,42,244.
