Bhubaneswar: For the first time in fourth wave of the COVID pandemic, daily cases crossed 200 in Odisha capital on Friday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), total 210 new positive cases of COVID were registered during 24 hours from 9 am on Thursday to Friday. All the infected persons were local contact cases, it added.
Of the day’s figure, maximum 39 cases were reported from Patia, followed by 23 from Nayapalli, 22 from Khandagiri, 17 from Chandrasekharpur and 11 from Dumduma.
With this, the active cases in the city have gone up from yesterday’s 633 to 758. While the total cases have mounted to 1,58,445, as many as 1,56,473 patients have recovered and 1196 persons have succumbed to the disease.
Bhubaneswar reported 176 new cases on Thursday, 184 on Wednesday and 170 on Tuesday.
