Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in the capital city marginally came down on Saturday compared to previous day but remained above 200 for third consecutive day
As many as 216 new cases were reported in the city in the last 24 hours while 233 patients were registered on Friday 233, 267 on Thursday, 111 on Wednesday, 152 on Tuesday, 118 on Monday and 149 on Sunday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 63 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 153 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 12 cases were reported from Patia, followed by 8 each from Nayapalli and Old town and 7 each from Sailahsree Vihar and Chandrasekharpur.
As many as 166 patients recovered from the disease while the number of deceased due to COVID remained at 1,028 with no more death reported during the period.
The active cases stood at 3,596 while total 1,14,467 people have been infected by the virus so far.
