Bhubaneswar: The Capital City witnessed a major jump in COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours when 357 persons tested positive for the virus compared to 181 new cases the previous day.
Of the new cases, 75 were from quarantine and 282 were local contacts, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated in a tweet.
Of the local contacts maximum 21 were reported from Chandrasekharpur, followed by 19 from Khandagiri, 16 from Old Town and 13 from Badagada.
The city logged 253 recoveries while there are 1,494 active cases. The number of deceased has touched 666 as 11 more patients succumbed to the disease.
With the day’s addition, the total number of cases stood at 96,422 while 94,241 patients have recovered from the disease.
