Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 cases in the capital city remained above 200 for second consecutive day as 213 more patients tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The city had reported 229 cases on Thursday, 170 on Wednesday, 197 on Tuesday and 168 on Monday.
The fresh cases included 34 from quarantine and 185 local contacts, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Among the local contacts, maximum 13 cases were reported from Patia, followed by 11 from Khandagiri, 9 from Nayapalli and 8 each from Sailashree Vihar and Sundarpada.
While 262 patients have recovered from the disease during the period, the number of deceased has remained at 990 with no more death reported in the last 24 hours.
The city now has 3,308 active cases while the affected tally has touched 10,6,292, the BMC added.
